Idaho PERSI, Medical Dental, Vision and supplemental insurance. Uniforms and equipment are provided along with a take home 4-wheel drive vehicle.
Requirements: Requirements are a high school diploma or a GED, at least 21 years of age, a United States Citizen, no felony convictions or conviction of an offense that would be a felony if committed in Idaho. Must be able to pass and comply with Idaho Post standards for peace officer certification. Applicants must pass a physical fitness test, background investigation, and oral interviews. Good character and clean background required. Experience preferred but not required.
Pay: $25.87 after 6 months and DOE
Under the supervision of the Chief Deputy and/or Sheriff or other appropriate authority, performs a variety of law enforcement duties intended to secure a safe environment for the county citizens and to protect legal rights as established by federal, state, and local laws. Primary duties include the protection of life and property through the enforcement of laws and ordinances. The officer responds to the scene of crimes and motor vehicle accidents, patrols waterways, forest service and BLM properties and makes arrests, prepare reports, serves and carries out civil processes and issues citations as required by the Sheriff’s Office policies and procedures. Other duties are to render first aid when necessary, directs traffic, question witnesses and suspects, makes court appearances as required. Officers maintain order in crowds and assist other law enforcement agencies when requested. All other duties as required by Idaho Statutes and as directed by the Sheriff.
Caribou County is made up of 1700 Sq Miles to include 55 Sq Miles of recreational water. We have three incorporated towns and many outdoor recreational opportunities.
